Effect

Detailed description

One stroke, bold and sweeping, as if a dragon has descended; another flows like a trailing thread, sealing every vital point. Wielding the Skybound Sword, blade and fan resonate together in continuous strikes against the enemy. After the first three stages of the skill land, press again to unleash the next strike, for a total of four stages when used solo. In the first stage, the sword pursues a distant target, dealing 96.00%Physical Attack + 6Physical Damage + Other Attribute Damage damage. In the second stage, the sword performs swift strikes at the target ahead, dealing 96.00%Physical Attack + 6Physical Damage + Other Attribute Damage damage. The third stage consumes an additional 30 Vitality and allows the blade to be hurled forward, knocking down the enemy and dealing 96.00%Physical Attack + 6Physical Damage + Other Attribute Damage damage. In the final stage, the blade is unsheathed, and its Sword Energy surges forth, dealing 672.00%Physical Attack + 47Physical Damage + Other Attribute Damage damage to the enemy.
When outside of the Arena and in open, level terrain, releasing the first stage of this skill will send an invitation to other Wanderers nearby within the party who carry this same technique. If they respond, they will then draw the Earthbound Sword to aid the Skybound Sword in unsheathing, entering the Super Armor state and releasing a Rapport Combo, dealing a […] Damage + Other Attribute Damage damage to the enemy. When releasing the Combo, the Skybound Sword and Earthbound Sword consume 30 and 50 Vitality respectively. Upon successful execution, the cooldown of this technique increases to 180 seconds for both Wanderers.

Usage

Solo, Dear Sword is a four-stage chain: press again after each of the first three stages lands to continue. Stage 1 sends the sword after a distant target, so it doubles as a gap closer. Stage 2 is a burst of quick strikes on the target in front of you. Stage 3 costs an extra 30 Vitality and hurls the blade forward to knock the enemy down. Stage 4 unsheathes the blade for the big hit. The first three stages deal 96.00% Physical Attack + 6 each, and the finisher deals 672.00% + 47, so roughly 70% of the combo's 960% total comes from the last stage. Make sure you have Vitality to spare: stage 3 costs an extra 30, and it's what knocks the enemy down ahead of the finisher.

With a partner: outside the Arena and on open, level ground, casting stage 1 invites nearby party members who also carry Dear Sword. If one of them responds, they draw the Earthbound Sword, you both enter Super Armor and release a Rapport Combo together. It costs 30 Vitality for you (Skybound Sword) and 50 for your partner (Earthbound Sword), and once it succeeds the skill's cooldown becomes 180 seconds for both of you.

A successful Rapport Combo puts Dear Sword on a 3-minute cooldown for both players, so agree with your partner on when to use it. Solo, the full four-stage combo is only worth committing to if you have the Vitality for stage 3.
