Gear Sets
Your first major gear goal is to obtain a complete set. Early on, a complete and functional set is more useful than spending heavily to perfect individual pieces that you will soon replace.
Offensive sets use Weapons + Pendants + Discs and generally focus on damage. Defensive sets use armor pieces and generally focus on survivability.
Bow sets are separate: Rings provide bow-specific passives and do not count toward the other set bonuses.
Rarity and Tiers
- Common → Rare → Epic (Purple) → Legendary (Gold)
- Higher rarity generally gives you more tuning potential.
- Gear tiers follow level bands; for example, Tier 41 covers roughly the level 41–50 range.
Once you have a set, maintain it while moving into the next level band rather than replacing pieces at random.
Getting Gear
1. Sword Trial / Hero Realm — Level 50+
These activities can provide gear from specific sets and are useful once you reach the appropriate level range.
2. Re-fighting Campaign Bosses
Campaign bosses can be repeated when you need a particular set. Loot quality can depend on your collected Oddities and other loot-improvement progress.
3. Season Shop
After collecting enough Jade Fish, the Season Shop can be used to target specific level bands and armor sets.
4. Outposts
Outposts are another gear source, but they can also be valuable for Shells and Mythic Skill upgrades. Consider those resources when deciding what to farm.
Stats & Resource Investment
Do not rush to perfect the exact stats on low-level gear. Before the higher level ranges, equipment can be replaced frequently, making expensive optimization inefficient.
- Tuning temporary equipment over and over.
- Recasting temporary equipment.
- Spending rare Shells on gear you expect to replace soon.
As you approach the higher level ranges, you can shift from simply maintaining a set to deliberately optimizing the stats and rolls you want.
Arsenal & Tuning
The Arsenal system becomes available around the level 41–51 progression range. It is the point where you should start thinking about which gear pieces are worth preserving and investing in.
When building Arsenal progress, focus your resources instead of fully upgrading every duplicate piece. A practical approach is to maintain one heavily invested piece of each equipment type for each level band.
- Prefer Epic/Purple or Legendary/Gold pieces when making meaningful investments.
- Tune the pieces you actually intend to preserve.
- Use the appropriate progression resources to finish the pieces you want to keep.
- Before upgrading, check that Auto-Recycle is turned off if you need to keep specific equipment.
This keeps your best gear moving into Arsenal instead of forcing you to rebuild the same equipment progression repeatedly.
