Build Use

One of the most flexible General Inner Ways, since both attacking and healing build Yi River stacks. At 5 stacks it gives extra Physical Penetration and a damage and healing boost, so it fits DPS, healer and hybrid builds alike in sustained fights.

It gets much stronger with crowd control. Against a controlled target, Tier 3 doubles both the bonus per stack and the stacks gained, letting you reach max stacks twice as fast. Tier 6 then adds an extra attack or heal at max stacks (two against controlled targets) every 10 seconds, and Tier 5 adds Direct Critical Rate on top.

Stacks can only be gained once every 2 seconds, so it takes a few seconds of fighting to reach full power. It shines in longer encounters rather than quick bursts.
